Tributes and Tribulations

Have you consumed your daily, weekly, monthly dose of tribulations recently?

Wether you work out of the home as an employee or your work is home based or both, rest assured you can always count on some degree of opposition, challenge or what some may refer to as plain old bad luck.
Nothing is ever easy, nothing worth attaining anyway.

Tribulations start at birth and continue through our lives. We have no choice but to handle them, so why not pay Tribute to ourselves and others who manage their tribulations,

Today (Memorial Day) I would like to pay tribute to the following:

-Our past, present and future military and their families- for facing the challenges of missed loved ones, enduring uncomfortable and extreme living conditions, physical and psychological pain and dispair.

-The disabled or health impaired and their families - for facing the challenges of innability to do what others do an a daily basis, for resisting inacceptance, for the tears that are shed and for overcoming rejection.

-Religous Clergy- for serving their communities through God, bringing faith and hope to their congregations, and inspiring love for God and one another in our ceremonies and daily life.

-The American Worker- for serving others needs, accepting indignant clients coworkers or employees, for enduring poor weather conditions, tiresome work and long hours to make a living.

Who would you like to pay tribute to for managing tribulations?

Man vs. Woman

Ever wonder why Men seem to look better as they age and women tend to do the reverse?
Ever wonder if the same skin care products/regimen is appropriate for both?
Ever wonder Are their differences in a man's skin and a woman's skin?
Ever notice Men hate sampling products. They just want to get on with it and when they find something reasonable they stick to what they know?

Here are a few interesting facts.

One difference between the genders is the fact that men’s skin has a tougher quality than women’s skin does. This is a huge reason why women seem to age faster than men do. Why? The damaging effects of the sun and environmental pollutants are exactly why. Since a man’s skin is of a harder texture, the UV rays and pollutants will not do half as much damage as they would to a woman. So, we as women wrinkle faster and produce looser skin quicker. Men will eventually wrinkle and see looser skin, but not as quickly as women.

Hair follicles on our face do have something to do with our skins texture and how we receive the ingredients from our facial cleansers and moisturizers. The fact that men grow hair all over their face and women do not will have an effect on the way our follicles produce oil. The sebaceous glands/ follicles on men, possibly due to the fact that they grow hair in more glands than women, are much smaller and do not absorb as quickly as women’s glands do. So a man may need a little extra cleansing power. He can use a line made for women, but women should avoid lines made specifically for men as they may be too harsh on our delicate skin and actually do more harm than good.

Another interesting fact about the difference between men and women in the form of skin types is that men’s skin is naturally dirtier than women’s. This is due to the fact that their sebaceous glands, although smaller, are more active producing oil more frequently then women’s skin as well as the fact that men shave on a daily basis. Shaving causes red flaky skin and cuts and abrasions. So another factor men should look for in the best facial cleanser available to take care of your face is one that has a deep cleansing quality. These deep cleansing qualities can come in the form of exfoliate or deep pore cleansers that get deep in to the pores, clearing out any unnecessary dirt and bacteria. Women’s facial cleanser on the other hand should be a little more gentle than this, containing exfoliate is good but only if they are of a very gentle form. A woman's skin is a lot more sensitive than a man's.

Tips for the King of your castle:

CARE FOR YOUR SKIN EACH DAY: Make skin care a regular part of your day. Use a cleanser

that doubles up as a shave cream in the morning. After shaving immediately apply a high

quality moisturizer designed to deliver moisture to most needed areas ( a soy based moisturizer is great for this).. At night, cleanse again and then apply a repairing moisturizer.

- SHAVE: Try and warm the skin before shaving. Shave in the direction of hair growth and change your blade every 2 or 3 days

- SUNSCREEN: They've heard it all before, but probably don’t like to use it. Skin cancer is at epidemic levels in men. Apply sunscreen 20 min before going out in the sun, then reapply every 2 hours.

- LIPS, EARS and SCALP: a key mistake is to forget to care for your lips, ears and scalp.

Remember to protect these as well. It’s sensible to carry around a lip balm with SPF in it.

- HAT: baseball hats might look cool, but they don’t cut it in terms of sunprotection. Try one with a wider brim…

Inspiration

Meaning:
-Stimultion to the mind or emotions to a high level of feeling or activity.

Inspiration comes in many forms.  It may be a simple smile, act of kindness, a personal example, a funny joke, your favorite song, someone else's success, a movie, a church mass or a devotional.  Each of us needs inspiration in our lives.  Some more than others or more at certain times or in certain instances.

Inspiration is really the gathering of knowledge in the quest to become better at something.  A better ballplayer, a better parent, a better listener, a better anything...
A lifelong quest too, as there is no cap on how good us humans can get.
Do you receive inspiration in some form from others?  Maybe you inspire others to learn more, do more or be better at something.

A little secret many may not be aware of.  I find inspiration several times a week by reading other's stories, hearing my favorite songs, looking at pictures, watching what others do, hearing what they say and also by reading Quotations or Devotionals over a cup of coffee each morning.

Call me an Inspiration junky.  I simply cannot get enough of it.  It feeds my soul, helps prepare me for the day ahead, lifts my spirits, gives me hope and renews faith.

I will share with you here some things, places, people where I receive inspiration In future posts in this topic and on the side bar, but first Is there something, someone, a reading, a song, anything that inspires you in your personal or business life?

I have learned That...

-What we put on our skin gets absorbed into other organs of the body.
-Alcohol is actually damaging to the skin
-Aluminum based compounds used in antiperspirants may contribute to breast cancer
-Chemical sunscreens by absorbing ultraviolet rays while
Physical sunscreens work by reflecting ultraviolet rays away from the skin.
-Mineral oil is made from petroleum and can be found in many cosmetics and sundries we purchase every day and can actually clog the pores and leave deposits in the skin.

I have also learned over this past month:
- I am inclined to write everything in outline style (LOL)
-Those you think care the most and those you think care the least can very easily be confused.
-Opportunity is only available to those who are willing to take it.
-The human body is not stronger than concrete.
-Always keep your eyes open for that first step.
